2013 Offseason Information

SIGN UP FOR THE SUMMER SESSION NOW!! STARTS MAY 27!!
These programs are designed for wrestlers that want to continue improving their wrestling skills beyond the competitive season. We utilize proven methods that will be of benefit to both elite and novice wrestlers. Our programs offer a great deal of personal attention and the ability to divide into focused groups as needed. The sessions will cover various aspects of freestyle, greco-roman, and folkstyle wrestling. This includes technique, drills, strength/conditioning, mental preparation, nutrition, etc. Members and coaches of the North Central wrestling team will be assisting throughout the camp. Various guest clinicians will be brought in as well.
Session 1 – Spring – Freestyle/Greco Roman
Dates: March 18 – May 23
Session 2 – Summer – All Styles
Dates: May 27 – August 8
Days/Times: Mondays & Thursdays @ 5:30-7pm
Cost: $250 / session
Hammer Special: $400 for both (Must sign-up prior to start of Session 1

We have ordered Freestyle/Greco Roman singlets for the upcoming season. These are available for purchase. They will be here in a few weeks so feel free to contact us to pre-order yours. Cost will be $40 each and they are available in red and blue. You can purchase them online at the Hammer Wrestling Store.

Keep in mind that these are always subject to change and more may be added. The current Hammer schedule is listed. These competitions are recommended by the Hammer staff and will have coaches attending each event.

Hammer Wrestling School For Youth in Naperville, Illinois
The Hammer Wrestling School has been established to help wrestlers at all levels, from novice to elite, improve their wrestling skills and ultimately achieve their wrestling goals. Our program offers a unique advantage in that our technique and philosophy are “college focused”. We provide access to the wrestling room and facilities at North Central College, a premier Division III wrestling program located in Naperville, Illinois. Also, Hammer Wrestling boasts superior instruction from established college coaches and elite college wrestlers. We teach quality fundamentals that are proven to be effective at the college level in a manner that athletes of all levels can learn. Most importantly, we do all of this at a significantly lower cost than our competitors.
Here at Hammer Wrestling, we love the sport of wrestling and believe in promoting our great sport to anyone wishing to improve, regardless of skill level or experience. Wrestling is our passion. Passion is contagious. We hope to spread our enthusiasm and we will be persistent in our efforts. One definition of the word “hammer” embodies this belief:
To make persistent or laborious attempts to finish or perfect something.
Hammer was chosen as the name as a result of “Hammer” being a coined term used by Coach Karl Bratland. A person who is a “hammer” is one who never quits, is relentless in whatever they pursue, and is tough mentally and physically. They are someone whom when you watch them practice, work, study, or do anything in everyday life, you think to yourself, “Man, he/she is a hammer. How do they do that? I wish I could be like that.”
The sessions at Hammer will cover various aspects of the sport of wrestling including but not limited to technique, drills, strength/conditioning, mental preparation, nutrition, etc. Members of the North Central wrestling team will be assisting with the sessions throughout the camps.
